Derived from Victoria, the freelance and Los Angeles-based illustrator, Victo Ngai, is one of other renowned artists/illustrators who provides illustrations for various clients, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, International Herald Tribune, Leo Burnett’s, McDonald’s, The Progressive, and Plansponsor.
Since she grew up on Hong Kong, she largely influenced by Asian arts and crafts such as Nianhua, Chinese ink scrolls, Lianhuanhua and Ukiyo-e. however, after attending Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), she was interested in western art masters such as Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Antoni Gaudi, William Turner, Norman Rockwell, N.C. Wyeth and Al Hirschfeld.
Because of feeling with artwork, she spent much of her childhood creating fantastical worlds with imaginary friends on paper to keep herself company. After becoming a professional illustrator, she uses a sketchbook and photoshop to get her drawings done as you can see some of her wonderful work below.
