The prominent architecture and design studio brut deluxe, which is led by Ben Busche and founded in 2004was commissioned by Luneng Sanya Bay, Luneng Group to build up “yǔzhòu” which amazed visitors with its immersive light installation.
Built with 2,5 m high panels of acrylic glass, this paradise-like room consists of an amazing view with a triangular geometry. Technically, yǔzhòu was created with a dichroic film glued to one side of the acrylic glass converting the panels in semi-transparent and reflects the light rays along the whole color range of a rainbow while viewers move in the installation.
“On the other side of each acrylic glass sheet, a specifically created pattern of grooves is mechanically carved in. The grooves are illuminated by powerful LED rails with subtly shifting colours located in the inferior and superior framework. The panels on the outer perimeter are provided with a mirror film converting the interior in an infinity room – a unique cosmos of overlapping light patterns and constantly changing colours”, brutdeluxe read.
