Alice Lin, artist who attempts to combine the human figure, plants, and animals into a singular, calm, and darkly mysterious vision
Xu Linlin (Alice Lin) is a Beijing-based artist. She is also a freelance painter and 3D Art Director with a passion for new Chinese meticulous art painting. In her childhood, she adored calligraphy and Chinese painting, which was an obvious inspiration with Chinese traditional techniques and surrealism.
This artist loves working through the ideas emerging from her imagination, particularly those that originate from another planet.
Art pushed her to think about her growth and development as a human for her whole life and has allowed her to go further than if she was left to rely on the initial reactions of life events.
“At this moment, I’m working with plant imagery and animal figures. It’s about giving up control and just keeping mind going naturally; about giving up our bodies to nature, in order to open up communication between the inside and outside of our beings”, she explained on wowxwow.
