‘The Flowering of Consciousness’: Carmelo Blandino’s paintings derived from the inexhaustible splendors and emotional resonance

January 08, 2017

After the completion of his school in art and design, Blandino succeeded in his career as a freelance illustrator, working with architects, designers, and advertising agencies but he changed his focus onto the world of fine art in 2002.
His paintings earned popularity through their immediacy and sensual, even lascivious expressions of color, movement, and shape. Because of wide recognition, his work is exhibited in New York, Palm Beach, Naples, Stockholm, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, and his beloved Montreal.
Evidently, via his recent collection of paintings, a series entitled “The Flowering of Consciousness”, Blandino has sought for a new path or probably a more specific and disciplined one.
“He has reached beyond his familiar approach of assembling a variety of flowers into wondrous, intuitive compositions, quiet riots of comforting colors and delicate dynamics, and discovered entire new worlds to contemplate in the solitary flower”, The debellefeuille read.
