Paintings and sculptures of artist Ellen Jewett were executed with acrylic, mineral and oil pigments. These hand-made achievements were painted with no more tools and fingers and a paint brush.
By virtue of this process, each piece if completely unique and produced in a fluid and intuitive manner.
Each of her work is produced by using an additive technique, layered from inside to out by an accumulation of countless tiny components which many of them are microcosmic representations of plants, animals and objects.
“This exploration is a large part of the unconventional look and feel of my work.  Where possible I source the natural, the local, the low impact and, always, the authentic”, she wrote on her website.
